Claire Poyner to run for the Greens in Holloway by-election

Islington Green Party have selected Claire Poyner as their candidate to run in the Holloway by-election on 3rd May. Claire has previously stood for the Greens in the 2006 and 2010 council elections for Holloway ward.
 
Claire is fifty five years old and lives in Holloway with her partner Jon and daughter Jessica.  She has lived in Islington for twenty eight years; in "Hyde Village" (or Corporation and Surr St estate as it was known when it was council-owned) for eighteen years. Apart from three years in Hampshire as achild, she has always lived in North London.
 
Claire works in Kings Cross as an administrator for Peace News, an anti-militarist newspaper, and at CND on Holloway Rd. Until recently, she served as a governor at Hugh Myddelton School and at Robert Blair School eight years ago.
 
She has been press monitor for Islington Green Party for ten years which involves reading the local papers, resulting in a good knowledge of local issues.  Her hobbies and interests include "Orange Wednesdays" at local cinemas, reading and listening to music.
