£104 per year to use new bike stores
Islington is charging residents more to park a bike in its onstreet cycle stores than many drivers pay for a parking permit, even though half a car space can house six bikes. Councillor Caroline Russell says “This price is too high, especially for people on low incomes. I’m asking the council to bring it down by using a surplus from their carparking fees.”
Local campaigner and council candidate Ernestas Jegorovas says: “The council were too slow to get TfL funding. Bikes help improve our air quality”
