Alex Gordon

I have lived in Islington for over 35 years and am now retired. I am active in my local street association and take part in road watches to take a note of speeding traffic. I volunteer in the local prison Pentonville, training prisoners to teach other prisoners to read.
Vivien Deloge

Vivien Deloge is a Senior Associate in an international NGO working on ocean conservation and sustainable fishing. His work aims to end illegal fishing and ensure that all fishing vessels are safe from stem to stern.
He previously worked at the French Parliament where he coordinated the work of the parliamentarian working group on oceans and blue economy, and for the Greens group at the Somme County Council in Picardy. He also worked in Geneva to promote the realisation of the human rights to water and sanitation, and at Greenpeace International in Amsterdam. Vivien participated in various youth associations to act on climate, oceans, water and endocrine-disrupting chemicals and co-founded one, The Climat’Optimists, in 2018 to show that green actions every day can go a very long way!
He graduated in Environmental Law from the University of Auckland, where he was awarded the New Zealand/France Friendship Fund Excellence (‘Rainbow Warrior’) Scholarship. Vivien was Co-leader of the French Greens in the UK (EELV UK) in 2021-2022, and directed their digital campaign for the French consular elections in May last year. He has plenty of renewable energy to spare to make Islington a greener place!
Bernadette Wren

For over twenty-five years I’ve lived in Islington and worked in nearby Camden as a child psychologist for the NHS. Until my retirement in 2020 I saw every day how people’s local environment and living conditions made a different to how they coped with life. I sent my daughter to the local primary school (where I was a parent governor) and to her nearby secondary school, doing what I could to support the school community.
As a family we appreciated many of the good things about living in Islington, as well as getting angry and frustrated about the downsides: the poor air, the relentless traffic, the state of some the housing stock, the lack of green space, the council’s reluctance to share power.
I joined the Green Party in 2010 because it stood up for the things I cared about, both in my neighbourhood and in the country. I still believe the Green Party has practical and inspiring solutions to many of our twenty-first century problems and I know that another Green councillor in Islington could be a real force for change.
