Current mayor Sadiq Khan is cutting nearly one in ten of inner London bus miles at the same time as failing to fix outer London‛s transport.
Green Assembly Member and Islington Councillor Caroline Russell says the Mayor claimed he would open new routes in outer London to make up for the losses to services – but while central London routes have seen big cuts, so far nothing has happened to help outer London. Caroline said: “The deal was that buses cut from congested inner city routes would be relocated to outer London where they are sorely needed. The Mayor has done half a job, bringing in cuts without the new services to match. Meanwhile people living in outer boroughs remain poorly served.”
